Iconoclasm and exploration and wonderful and so badly needed in the Body of Christ, Andy! I’ve grown up in a family like that, however, and I’m that way. But it can definitely lead to an elitism which is just not fun at all. I’ve always been much happier “rationing” my skepticism, but more importantly, maintaining a full plate of nutritious people-relationships!

Go explore! Explore and go! Then get back on-track and don’t get lost in the snow! (I.e., get back to those peeps!)

Thanks for sharing this Andy. Very edifying, good “people food” this morning…

This is cool Andy. Don’t be afraid to humble yourself more like this. I like to think of myself as elite too - but the truth is, I’d be nowhere without God.

Whenever I’m getting on my high horse I just refer back to Paul. If anyone could brag, it was Paul - yet he dispised himself and constantly wrote about how wretched he was! Jesus even more so could have demanded people recgonize his awesomeness, yet he humbled himself to the point of death on the cross - then was glorified by God!

Such cool insights, Andy. I am excited to see how God will use you with this new perspective he’s given you.
I’m definitely much different than I envisioned myself being when I was in high school: not nearly as esoteric and enigmatic, but much more loving and fulfilled. Of course I’ve still got a long way to go, but what God had for me was way better than what I imagined for me.

deep domain, i was once in a situation where what i was doing with something i should have been doing for god, and was failing because that was what i wasnt doing…. realizing this ive been working on it, and have been much more godly ever since.

Hey Redondo Beach! I think that is where we first met baby Julie Alesnik when she was first adopted in LA. Sweet memories. That is so cool how you are journalling all of your trips and stuff. I always mean to do it and forget.

Hey, I realized that I was vague on the whole “body” thing - Paul was addressing the body of Christ - the church and Pual was getting down on the Corinthians for those prevailing sins that disrupted the UNITY of the BOC.

BTW - your blogs are interesting (fun too) and your questions are thoughtful - keep writing.
